When i do a command-line in Windows 2000, the window immediately disppears too fast for me to see the information?

Like when i try a ping or ipconfig to get my ip, the window pops up and immediately disappears... how can i set it so that it doesn't do that?

Go to a command prompt first:
Start>Run>cmd or command
Start>Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt
