When going to college, which would be better? A part time on-campus job or a full-time other job?

And how easy is it to get an on-campus job? I live right near the college i want to attend so i'll be driving from home to the college.

There are all kinds of part-time / student worker jobs on campus. Just have to apply for them and see what happens.

Will college and work-study be like go to classes, then go to work, then afterwards go home and study for 2 more hours and then go home and do whatever i want?

Also, in college work-study programs, does one get the same pay they'd get elsewhere or does the money you earn go to the college?

Work-study jobs are paid for (mostly) by the government. The college pays something like 25 cents an hour, or perhaps even less. You receive the money like you were working a regular job.

Having a job on campus is very convenient, too.

Work study jobs, at least in my experience, have flexible hours - a few hours here and there between classes. So if you've got 3hrs space between classes, go work during that time. Then more classes, then maybe more work, then go home and do homework.
Some work-study jobs also have lots of downtime, during which you can do homework.

I worked on campus and it was very convenient in that they were completely flexible with scheduling me around my classes, like Jeff7 mentioned. Also they provided work experience for the food science majors, although I wasn't one. There was a concentrated effort to teach them all parts of the process and to keep giving them more responsibility.

i worked ~30hrs/wk at crapplebees while in school. work study nets you next to nothing money-wise, and a job on campus limits how many hours you can work (or at least was the case where i went). waiter = good money, even if you just work friday/saturday nights.

On-campus is going to be more convenient, and the supervisors will likely be more understanding of things like exam schedules conflicting with your work schedule. Full-time and off-campus would be rough; not impossible, but it does at quite a bit of stress. And then there's the happy medium, an off-campus part-time job. I'd think off-campus would pay better, but it's a bit more of a hassle in terms of transportation and scheduling.
