used rubbing alchohol (looked @ ingredients and they were 70% alchohol and other ingredients: water)

so using lint free cloth i gently wiped the top wehre i screwed up with the too much thermal paste...however the cpu is still colored a wahsed out color of the paste even thou all the paste is gone

is this normal?

GOOD GOD! I thought I was sloppy... but anyways thats a LOT of extra paste. Give it a go... it should be ok as long as you don't have any bridges connected.

lol yea read the topic in my first post

i had no idea wut i was doing and i was retarted and now i know it

im just asking if you think i got it all off based on that picture b/c like i said w/ the alchohol it looks like it comes off but then when it dries it goes back to that color....

Read what I posted on you link to earlier thread.
The CPU that I accidentally spilled and smeared AS on, looks grayish like AS after drying.
The CPU works though, but I was really worried for a while.
