I use speakers, since blasting my speakers piss off the rest of my family.

I try to use speakers exclusively until the Naginator (aka my wife) comes in b!tching about them like last night.

when i play ut... i have all the music and sound fx turned down, and just play listening to music through my speakers. winamp hot keys let me change, pause, and play tracks.

Well its cool to blast them when you have 5.1 so that you get the theatre thing goin on. I cant stand headphones because someone can just creep up on you when you are doing something stupid and 0wn you.

the only game that i play on my computer is americas army. and for it i use a headset. you can hear footsteps and crap better with headphones/set than regular speakers.

Really depends on the time of day. My headphones aren't as fun as 5.1 surround. But on the otherhand, my neighbor or god forbit my girlfriend , would want to hear it at 7am.

My 5.1 speakers are centered around the tv just off to my side, so i don't get any directional info... but then my 4 year old headphones just had the left can crap out on me, and they're gonna be expensive to replace (wireless jobs).

I only play multiplayer ie. COD so I only have a nice pair of headphones connected to the PC. Plus PC speakers still cant yet compete with higher end HT speakers so I thought I might as well save my money.

What about that gigaworks 7.1 crap from Creative? Isnt 500 or whatever wattage that is right on par with high end HT systems?

I pity you if you can't trust the people that you live with.

*Whip crack*

Oh, she likes them for their own accords, like the ability to shake the entire room when the right frequency is being played. 😉 She just doesn't want to hear Doom 3 at all hours. 😛
