I just heard on the radio Burger King is testing delivery in limited areas. Too bad Burger King sucks, even as far as fast food goes.

Burger King is testing delivery in a few Washington, D.C. area restaurants as part of a test that will include 16 restaurants by January 23.

The fast food chain, however, did not provide details on the timing of a national rollout.

Burger King already has successful delivery programs around the world, including in Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, Columbia and Peru, Burger King spokeswoman Kristin Hauser said in a statement.

I think it will work. In our area we already have delivery services that will go to whatever fast food restaurant you want, buy you something and deliver it for a fee. If they are successful, I'm sure direct delivery will be as well.

It can work but BK is not going to invest the required brand restructuring to pull it off. I don't mind BK its just these days I prefer healthier food since I've gotta last a long time :)

@McD's all their chicken stuff is fairly healthy as far as fast food goes and @BK their burgers are unhealthy and their chicken isn't on par with McD's.

Heart disease runs in the family so mostly just trying to avoid high trans fat. Not really possibly at BK afaik.

Burger King puts too much crap on their sandwiches. I don't eat there often, so I don't know what the default loadout is. Twice I asked to get a burger with no condiments, and my fancy grade school English confused the cashiers. I had to explain what a condiment was, and give examples of shit I didn't want on my burger. Aside from being a PITA, you run the risk of getting nothing on a burger :^S

Burger king is the best of their grade (Mcdonalds/Wendies/etc). To get better you need to step up to slightly more expensive (Hardies/Arbies/Etc). That said I'm not willing to pay for delivery of it either.

Just to be clear, what is a condiment?

I'd consider a condiment on a BK burger to be Mayo and Ketchup.

Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Onion are toppings.

And that's all that's on a standard whopper. I actually like it.

EDIT: if we go by the Wikipedia definition of a condiment, then the patties have some kind of condiment too, I think. I think they add a little bit of Liquid Smoke or something of that nature to give the patties a certain flavor. Im not a huge fan of that, but I tolerate it. I don't know if that's removable.

Should the govt put guidelines in place to limit what these restaurants can serve? It seems like people are getting bigger and bigger these days.

Exactly! Liquid smoke isn't a condiment AFAIC. Toppings aren't traditionally regarded as condiments, but like everything else in life somebody will make the opposite ridiculous argument. Any normal, well adjusted person will identify a condiment as ketchup, mustard. mayo, tartar sauce, or anything that resembles them. NOT tomato, lettuce, onion, and CERTAINLY not cheese. Forgetting the cheese is an invitation for a beat down :^D
