That would be interesting on the epigenetic part of biology.

Not really related but perhaps interesting although it is hearsay.
According to some people i spoke, cocaine use seemed to boost their immune system. As long as they eat healthy, they never got sick. Unfortunately the expensive habit destroyed them sooner or later. It is maybe the same as some heavy smokers who seem to never get sick and reach 90+ age easily in good health. They do look a kind of grey and unhealthy though... Maybe some people have this natural advantage of using specific toxins to boost their immune system ?

My son has a friend in high school, I was told the kids whole family smokes weed and k2 - the mom, dad, and son. On top of that, the kid says his mom used to be a stripper.

Not setting very much of an example there.

To me, its really sad when such bad habits are passed down through the generations.

Both of my parents were users. But now clean. I'm clean at half the age they got clean. I'm still a loser...

To me, it's sad when others project their own moral or ethical standards onto other people and then judge the other people for their actions when those actions aren't actually hurting anyone.

I see nothing wrong with responsible use, however, it is kinda sad when many generations of a family are dependent.... This could apply to alcoholism just as much as any other substance.

This is completely backwards. Cocaine does not boost your immune system. Stimulant drugs suppress your immune system. You're still sick, but you don't show any signs of being sick.

Perfect example of this is ephedrine or pseudoephedrine (sudafed). It's a very powerful amphetamine stimulant used as a nasal decongestant. It doesn't make you not-sick, but it completely stops all sinus inflammation. If anything it would make you sick for a longer period of time because it's suppressing the immune system, but we take them because we don't feel sick anymore.

I feel bad for a kid like that. Of course he/she can make a great life, but he/she is already starting at a giant disadvantage.
