Well a game has to be fun to justify upgrades right?

Not for me, I live for eye candy 😛

And people wonder why companys can make crap games and still have them sell because they have uber shaders, lighting and 32xSSAAXXXASASAXASSXA+HDR...

Maybe S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

We can only hope. That's the only game that I feel is not from the other batch of cookies being released, and might actually introduce some new and fun stuff.

But Oblivion and HOMMV are just awesome, so I'm in no rush 😉

Truthfully, if I had to choose graphics or story/gameplay, I would choose the latter. However, I would still probably enjoy a game if it had awesome graphics as long it had decent gameplay. Luckily, most games whose graphics were considered next gen had very good gameplay also (except Doom3).

Inq, but I see no reason why to not believe them. They're usually right about things.

Didnt the inq also say that the R520 would be 750/1000 gddr4 dual core, have 32 pipes, ect.

Prey isn't running under the exact same Doom 3 engine.

Doom 3 is OpenGL, to start with.

Prey is Direct3D. They had to modify a lot of things, and enhance others. It ain't the exact same thing. And what we've seen was not running on our own monitors, and videos can't do justice to live action. I'm pretty sure that Prey will at least be visually more impresive then Doom 3 ever has been.
