I'm not saying those who are insulting you are in the right for doing it publicly, but I do think that you are just as bad or worse than your "attackers" for posting your childish responses about tattling to the mods. Apoppin, why is it that you think you are getting so unpopular? Until I started reading R600 thread in video, I had no idea who you were. Now I honestly tend to just scroll over your posts because they always seem to be a backlash of what someone else has said to insult you or some *oddly* punctuated GARBAGE that only those who take the time to *pause* and try to decode it will understand... Apoppin, with how unpopular you are making yourself you should definitely try to back off a little. This was not meant to insult you, just to show you the point of view of someone who hasn't interacted with you until just recently.

/awaits apoppin's overly punctuated response about his entitlement to free speech and how my post was a personal attack and he is going to tell the mods

look ... this started when OneOfTheseDays decided to call me out in Open forum [in THIS topic - look back 2 pages]

although he is NOT regular here, he went so far as to call me out in Forum Issues with a thread naming me ... well, he didn't get what he wanted, the thread was locked and he said this to which yacoub decided to get involved and carry on the flaming and personal attacks on me:

there was once a time, many years ago, when we could have meaningful discussion here but clearly that ship has sailed.

I think she left port a couple years ago. :(

seriously, i can barely remember what it was like before we had the super fanboys like apoppin and rollo.

eventually you just have to ignore the idiots. they seem to be multiplying though.

so he started by - UN provoked - lumping me in with the idiots

i replied to a comment he made to Gstanfor and he *went off* on me

IF someone did that to *you* ...

how would you respond?

turn the other cheek to an unprovoked flamethrowing troll?
--i think NOT :p

This is getting along I remeber when there were flame threads every day.

Apparently he goes around LOOKING to be insulted because he wasn't even mentioned in my general comment to OneOfTheseDays. But having a burning desire to find any reason at all to keep posting non-stop, he seeks to be included in anything he can find to be insulted about or for any other reason can comment on ad nauseum. Very unstable mentality, that.

It's surprising he thinks he should draw a moderator's attention to yet another 'apoppin incident', as certainly by now they must wonder who is of more value to the forum: one incomprehensible poster splattering 25,000+ pieces of textual diarrhea all over their forum, or the untold number of folks (and threads) his trollish and childish antics have turned away, insulted, or generally disturbed.

Certainly a card on the shelves would end this silly self promoting of online personalities. At the rate that some avatars put their names in thread titles - you would think it was a popularity contest or an election. Sort of like an online reality game - who can we vote on or off the island today.

Anyways come on ati - release a card so we can have some real interest here!

edit: The inquirer claims to be in tunesia so maybe soon.

If you are so bothered by apoppin please just stop reading his posts and stop responding to him. That way you will no longer have to deal with him and you will no longer be filling up threads with useless comments - it's that simple.

Anyway, here's the link keys: AMD two quarters away from running out of cash

Probably that Phynazz troll that just likes to spew AMD doom and gloom, but nothing else.

Did you look at the post above you? Informationweek is hardly a "fanyboy" of any company. They are in the business of looking at investments objectively. Your post is useless. Please do not return to the thread with more BS like this.

so now you justify a personal attack on the grounds that i "invited" it

you are becoming more ridiculous by the second

i didn't do a damn thing to you :|

you are clearly the childish and mean little troll

i *average* ten post a day ... for the last 7 years ... and *most* of them are NOT posted in Video
--and evidently they ARE considered 'helpful' posts if judged by many PMs i get - every day -
asking for personal help and opinion because they *hate* video and the flaming and the trolls they have *dodge* here --just to get a simple question answered

i should *not* have to justify anything to you whatsoever as just about no one here respects your opinion so you have to "align" yourself with a "camp" to even survive in Video

as to my *posting style* it is NONE of your business [period]

stop READing my posts!

i promise to stop reading yours - unless you call me out by name - i *know* i won't miss *anything of worth* and i will save a lot of time NOT reading your incoherent, hateful and jealous rants against me

BACK OnT

No one really seems to know for sure when the NDA lifts ... according to theInq it appears to be May 14

But there is apparently an earlier launch for the Press in Tunesia ... next week [i guess]
so i expect some "impressions" of r600 and the family - at least

AMD is definately planning something huge, hence the deathening silence creating all the conspiracys and rumors which is not necessarilly a bad thing considering all the speculation going on.
The only sure thing is that the R6XX is gonna either revolutionize and transform the video card industry or become the biggest flop the industry has ever seen.
Sit tight.

Why either of those two outcomes only? It could come out and be a competitive but not exciting alternative to G80, sort of like the x1800 was to 7800gtx

Yes, I did look at the post above me. Did you look at the post above you?

I thought Keys was asking what member said the quote, so I posted who I thought probably posted it. No where did I deny the validity of the quote. The only BS here is you insinuating I said Informationweek is an Intel fanboy, when I wasn't even talking about them. Guess that makes your post equally useless?

"AMD's purchase of graphics chipmaker ATI was funded with $2.5 billion in debt, which came loaded with restrictions that would force the company to prepay the loan if it obtains more debt, issues shares, sells assets or even reduces working capital...

'We still foresee a meaningful degradation of AMD's cash balances,' Citigroup analyst Glen Yeung wrote in a report.

The numbers are grim. Although AMD has nearly $1.2 billion in cash, it must fund a capacity expansion plan that will cost it $2 billion this year alone, even after a recent $500 million reduction aimed at keeping expenses in check..." -Reuters

Financially, AMD is f**ked. Private equity likes to invest in companies with stable/growing positive cash flow and dominant market position (e.g. Seagate when they went private). AMD doesn't have those characteristics. High-techs are usually too volatile for their taste. IMO, one of the few ways to raise the necessary working capital from private equity or other sources to survive is if AMD management can convince them with a turn-around plan that probably would have to involve fab divestitures, massive R&D cutbacks (in the short term) and sizable employee layoffs. They need to get out of ICU before even thinking of winning a triathlon against Intel or Nvidia right now.

So I suppose we should see official info very soon. like first thing Monday morning? I guess were in for a paper launch too. That alone ought to create a slew of nasty threads all over the net.

I was hoping we'd hear of a leak by now. So will info be available starting tomorrow, or should we just expect a later date?

I just drank a few beers, give it a few more minutes.

I think the whole event is under NDA, so no real info will be released.

Ya, thats one reason why I've been checking the net every half hour or so to see if anything will pop up.

Even though I won't buy one I am freaking excited. I am actually waiting for lower power consumption before I upgrade my 7800GT. I'm hoping that will be the summer of 2008, hopefully.

I have this stuff from back home called Old Stock that you have to set away for a least a year before you drink it. I have three four packs sitting under my bed right now. Did I mention that it is 13.25% and it is a tongue twister.
****** I am off topic. Don't get me started on beer.

Right now it is 7:35AM in Tunis, so I guess it will either be a Morning event or Later in their day before the Event, with NDA doors slung wide open thereafter.

I find it weird that the people in xtremesystems still have no cards  usually they are the first to leak a few numbers well before the cards are released.. hmmmm
