When does the ATI X800XL come out?

I've read about this card with review like a month ago and haven't heard anything about it since then.

Any updates? When is it due out?

LOL

It was supposed to be available in large quantities over a week ago.

Now they're saying the beginning of February. Last year's delay cycle has started up again. ATI obviously didn't make a new year's resolution unfortunately. They had a bad year last year and I was hoping they would. :thumbsdown:

Are they waiting for the price of the 6800GT to drop down to $299 before they release it - LOL

This is really disappointing.

Well, PCIe isn't exactly hurting for good deals. You can always pick up a 6600GT to hold you over until the X800XL grace us with its presence.

Sorry it's lost in the abyss of my web browsing. It's not like they can be trusted at this point anyways. Once bit, twice shy as they say. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do when you've been bit 5 times. :confused:

worth complaining about tho, it looked most awesome from the reviews i've read, and should really get ATI back in the game @the top end (realistic top-end anyway :) )

I'm waiting patiently for this card. Sounds like a killer deal, hopefully ATI will get their act together and release it already. I'm waiting up on the release of this this card and the MSI K8N nForce4 Neo4 motherboard, and for the prices of the 3500+ Athlon64 (90nm) to come back down to where they were 2 weeks before Christmas.

This what I'm planning on building:

AMD Athlon64 3500+ (90nm)
MSI K8N nForce4 Neo4 Ultra
1GB Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series (2-3-3-6 T1)
ATI X800 XL (256MB/256 Bits)
74GB WD Raptor drive 10K RPM SATA
300GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 SATA - 16MB cache
Case with 450watt PS
--------------------------------------------------------
~ $1400

That should prove to be very fast. :)

I'm assuming with the system above, they'll be few (if any) bottlenecks, and that the videocard should run perfectly as well as the rest of the system.

This paper-launch sh!t is just sad.

I figured they would do the same thing again, & sure enough.

A course of antibiotics and rabies vaccinations? Perhaps some pepper spray repellent would also be in order so as to prevent any further such incident.

The wait is over, I am now announcing my own line of video cards! At least 2x as fast as a 6800U!

Disclaimer: To be available at retail in 2009 once I finish my EE degree. :roll:

They'll be out next week!!!!

All 4 of them.

Priced at $800 a piece because of low availability.

It has one advantage for sure: It can be part of an SLI rig.

(immediate availability and better performance would be others)

Heh, point.

The thing is, I'm just not interested in SLI. I can't handle the pricetag that comes along with it. Now if I could, in the future, just add any old Vid Card alongside of my "old" 6800GT, then it would be cool.

Availability = my friend.

Performance = very slightly better.

Aside from that, I can't spend much more than $300. I have to wait for the right moment to grasp that.

I'm going to hold you to that in 4 years.
