Well, this time they arent working on another movie (as was the case with FOTR and TTT) so they might release it earlier... a lot earlier hopefully.

True. However, they worked on the CG and editting of the films after each preceeding one was released.

What does your dislike of this movie have to do with when it's coming out?
Oh, and to stay on topic: if they follow the release schedule they followed for the first two DVDs ROTK should be out in August.

Yeah, I own both extended editions, and they are so much better than the theatrical release that I am actually considering skipping Return Of The King at the theater altogether and just waiting for the extended DVD to come out. Of course eventually my geek nature will overcome me, and I won't be able to resist the lure of the big screen. What a sucker I am...

I'd say August most certainly () just like the previous two films. There have been several rumors about a possible May release date for the theatrical version but that is pretty unlikely.

November again for the Extended Edition, or possibly August if the theatrical comes out in May (this was also a part of that rumor).

Since the EE of ROTK is rumored to have about 1 hour of extra footage and Barrie Osborne (producer) has been quoted as saying there will be 400(!) more visual effects shots done for the ROTK:EE and Howard Shore has to compose all that new stuff to fill in the extra hour, it will probably stick with the Nov. release.

I am dying here without a screener like last year.
