When does a lens warranty end?

For example, with a retail Canon lens bought from B&H online, is it one year from the purchase date? One year from the shipment date? One year from receipt? Or one year of submission of warranty card?

This is why I have camera insurance through State Farm. $1.60 per $100 of coverage per year and they'll cover theft, breakage, accidents, etc 🙂

Oh, I have insurance through USAA.

That's not the problem.

I was just wondering, if I had a lens that I wanted to sell but had not filled out/submitted the warranty card, could I still claim the lens as still having a one-year warranty. I didn't think this was the case, and you all proved me correct.

What's your co-pay?

If I remember correctly, $0.

Yeah, I actually just went to check with State farm and its $1.30 per $100 for the year with $0 co-pay. I might have to jump on that. Any other insurance companies that have better rates? Not the biggest fan of State farm.

I believe the policy you are talking about is called an inland marine policy. I've got my computer, some jewelry and my cameras on one as well...and it's comparable in price to what you described.
