When does a Hispanic person become classified as white?

Are all hispanics considered hispanics or are some considered white??

many hispanics that have been here for many years become indistinquishable much like the germans, irish or british have. so at what point do you change classification of a family from hispanic to white??

Most older government forms that asked for race did not have a Hispanic choice, so most Hispanics chose White/Caucasian. Now that the forms have the distinction on them, I would think that some old-timer Hispanics check White/Caucasian out of habit. So the answer to your question would seem to be "When they choose to be."

umm lets see, i'm not hispanic but my parents were born in merida and sonora, but i was born here, so ima what? mexican american? hispanic? anyways, I don't think i'll ever consider myself white, cause my families blood still runs though me and will continue to do so when and if i get married and *gasp* have children who will still be having my blood and so on and so on.

In a strict biological sense, hispanics are considered Caucasian, just as Arabs are. There will always be some ethnic groups which don't fit into the classic three race categories (Negroid, Caucasian, Mongoloid) and thus get shoehorned into another category which doesn't seem to fit but is the closest choice available.

What are poeple from the mother country called danny? I think they say spanish but some also say hispanic. Always amuses me to hear this couple in my church talking to thier children in spanish all have very nordic features blond hair and green eyes🙂 I think hispanic is more heritage than color.
