When do we use high beam while driving??

I thought we only use high beam when we drive in a fogging condition/weather. People on opposite of the lane used their high beams while the nothing wrong with the weather that pissed me off....Geez... or I am wrong about that???

Highbeams are for when there is no one in front of you at night and you want to see ahead of you better on a road with lots of turns and hills, etc. Fog lights are for fog...

They help a lot in seeing when you're in the middle of nowhere with no street lights.

Right...so why people use high beam and flash their high beam at me...(showed off or something) while driving opposite side of the road ? And this was in the city too.

Usually if you were to get lost in the bad part of town just keep flashing them and someone will know you need directions and help you out.

When there's nobody else around while you drive on an unlit highway or backroad. As stated before, don't use them in fog as the light will actually reflect back into your eyes and make it even harder to see.

High beams in fog makes it even WORSE to drive, because the fog reflects the light right back at your eyes... you should NOT use high beam in foggy conditions

High beams are meant for use on nights when nobody is oncoming. Using them in fog is stupid and just impairs your vision that much more.

Many people use the high beams when they really shouldn't. For example, if there is oncoming traffic or plenty of streetlights, you should not use your high beams. People do anyway because they're stupid.

And dude, you really are unfit to drive, please turn in your driver's license and retake the test or something. There ARE certainly more oblivious drivers than you, but I think it's best to eliminate potential problems whenever possible...

hi beams are for this..................country road/B-road driving where the road is pretty narrow, bushes/hedges/trees either side, with no street lamps. at night you need your full beams on so you can actually see whats ahead.

alot of our country roads tend to have lots of sharp turns, kinks, bad bumps n ruts that can come up on you pretty fast considering the speedlimit on these roads is 60mph, so its helpfull to be able to see abit further

lol high/full beams in fog = a white wall infront of your windscreen. the fog particles do noithing but reflect all that light back at you. if you guys get fog like we sometimes do...even normal dipped headlamps dont help you. full beams in fog just doesnt work
