When do we start bombing?

What in the hell are you talking about, we've been bombing Iraq for years, and more than ever since least fall.

Hmm, I'm assuming you mean "When are we going to invade". The day after the Security council votes.

One thing is for sure, they cant keep soldiers in temporary staging areas indefinitely. I think it could still be a month or two .. I dont see us fully geared up just yet. And maybe it wont happen at all.

According to British sources, ground troops move in March 17, with the bombings starting 4 days prior. The UN will be voting Monday. The US will give its 48 hour warning, and bombings will start Weds night/early Thursday morning.

3 days?

Didn't know you ever stopped? Its been going on since '91. But if you're asking when the "real action" starts, I'll stick with March 22 (as I've said since December). I also believed that Nortel would reach $100 again, so....

We have 250k troops on the, working our way up to 300k. The Turkey situation isnt going to delay anything, the equipment and troops that were supposed to be in Turkey are being rerouted, the only thing that will slow war plans down would be Eygpt blocking the US from using the Suiz Canal right away. But none the less the troops and equipment that were supposed to be there will be were they are being rerouted to by next weekend, 15th or 16th.

If its going to happen, its going to happen this month, specifically next week.

But then, have a look at my thread claiming that the Iraqi's have started blowing up oilfields. If so, could happen tonight.

With all the other countries that supported us durning Desert Storm, we still had over half a million troops for that mission, I dont think we have near the support for this one so we dont really have quite the force needed to do the job without the other nations giving logisitcs support.

It is 8:55 EST and 4:55 Baghdad time.
So, at 8:00PM tonight (3/19), that is 4:00 AM (3/20) Baghdad.
Will we bomb right about then?

We have 30 nations on board with us and another 15 giving their private support. Link.

Probably not. We waited a few days after the ultimatum in the first Gulf War. I would expect the same here. Probably this weekend or soon after.

It seems to me the High-Power Microwave missiles would be the best to start with.
I'm sorry for all my OCing brothers in Iraq. But knocking out all computers seems like a no-brainer. It's back to shouting and smoke signals after that. 😉

I dunno, but I think we are gonna be disappointed, I know I will, because most reporters will not be brave enough to stay in Baghdad and film the bombs falling

New Moon which is the greatest darkness is April 1.

That is only going to be one of the factors. Weather is less than ideal at this point. Weather is warmer and the sandstorms have started.

Its already started. Not offically but most troops are right at the Iraqi border, Spec Ops are securing airfeilds in Iraq, and some British and US troops were in firefights with Iraqis while trying to secure amphibious landing sites in Iraq. B52s are in route, and are just waiting for the word go.
