Been looking to upgrade several components in my system and have been eyeing several different NForce 650i boards - I want SLI and by current ABIT NForce board has been rock solid. Today I was browsing some of the ads in my CGW magazine and noticed the pre-built systems for sale are loaded with a 700 series NForce board. However, I can't seem to find much about them other than they are coming out in December. Anyone have any info on these new boards and how they compare to the 600 series? What the price range is expected to be? And most importantly, is it recommended that I wait and purchase the 700 series board over the 600 in my upgrade.

What Resolution and size Monitor do you have ? or plan to buy ?

Are you going to run your Graphics above 1680 x 1050 ?

The performance difference between P35, and X38 are not worth the expense unless you can answer Yes to the above question.

The same can be said for NVIDIA 680i and 780i.

These Motherboards are a dead end after Wolfdale/Yorkfield.(Penryn)

Nehalem will require a new Socket and that will happen next year aprox. this time frame.

DDR-3 will not be an advantage until Chipset Drivers, and BIOS's catch up, and improve.

Multi GPU is only an Advantage on very high resolution, and large monitors.

Remember the first rule of marketing.. Make them think that thet need it.....

Mr Fox has it correct. Marketing is what sells. I still use a single core 939; I would get dual core if I needed it, but it's a waste of money for my needs.
