Question When do budget AM5 processors come out?

It's been nearly a year now, and the cheapest AM5 processor is still about $350. When will they be releasing some budget processors for the platform?

I think we budget AM5 motherboards too before it makes sense.

How much may a budget AM5 motherboard cost? Perhaps $100. When will we have that?

The motherboard prices are already there, whats missing here is the entire sub-$200 and sub-$100 cpu/apu lineup.

7500f available here in Australia - $299, even get a wraith stealth cooler! 🙂 but.... for 50 bucks more get the 7600, imo 7600 better value for money cause iGPU.

I think ryzen 5500/5600G will stay as the budget option for cpu/apu. And if AMD releases small phoenix on desktop, then it'll be slotted above those (at $140-160). If small phoenix stays on mobile, then it makes sense to keep ryzen 5600 at $140 in production.

The iGPU that comes with Zen4 is mostly there as a fallback for if your discreet card fails. Anything beyond light use is going to overwhelm it.

If you want a decent iGPU just get one of their APUs. The CPU might not clock as high, but the GPU is many times better than the CPU will be worse.

And Cezanne is going nowhere. I looked and the lower end Intel stuff is still mostly DDR4. So you figure most OEM offerings using AMD will continue to use DDR4 too.

the iGPU in Zen 4 is perfectly capable of 2D business apps & web browsing & video playback. I'm using that now on one of my AM5 socket systems just fine under windows 10. So it depends how one defines "light use".
Can't get an APU for AM5 atm, rumours are they are on their way. Only APU for AM4 atm. Another bonus of the 7600 is higher PBO boost within the same 65W TDP as the 7500F. Surely worth the extra $50.

Are there any sub $160 budget cpu's coming out before the end of the year? I've been thinking of building an AM5 build, now that motherboard and memory have come down....

No. Maybe they will bring a cheap Phoenix or Phoenix 2 based part to desktop but that's next year.

$194 7600 if you're in a hurry.

If your definition of budget is ~$100 I don't think we'll see that you until after the launch of Zen 6.
Yep, especially with recent rumors of new AM4 Ryzen 5000 GT and X3D processors releasing in Q1 of next year. It's clear that AMD wants AM4 to be relevant in the budget segment, to compete with DDR4 LGA1700 from intel.
