Hairy genes FTW!!!

I'm 49 and no hair loss here, and my dads 80 and still has a full head of hair.

Although I'm getting more snow on the roof each year, atleast the roof is still there:)

Unfortunatley your father is irrelevant because the hair is passed on thru the mothers side. Look at your mothers father to know what you've inherited. At least, that's what I've heard (and seems to be true from what I've seen).

That's largely a myth derived from dubious studies in the 1920s. Recent studies still suggest influence from the mother's side (that's probably not surprising), but the genes related to androgens are largely influenced by those from both parents. That's what I've read anyway...

if getting l@id isnt a practical purpose, I dont know what is.

Meh, that's taking it a little far, imo. Fat people, bald people, short people, skinny people, etc. get laid too. Hell, one of my best friends is fairly obese and balding, and yet he has a beautiful girlfriend. He also happens to be an incredible guy, funny and very intelligent. I see bald guys all the time with beautiful women, and fairly unattractive women with attractive men as well.

Too much emphasis on the superficial. It's really nauseating at times.

Note, I'm not saying you are superficial. Just referring to things in general.

started to shave my head now at 22 b/c it got to that point.

It's hereditary, nothing I could do, unless I had started taking propecia maybe from day one..::shrug::

Luckily, I don't have an oddly shaped head : P

I'm 30 and haven't started losing anything yet. One of my grandfathers had a full head of hair when he died in his 70's.

Got ya beat. I was noticeably losing my hair starting around 14-15. By the time I was 16 I had already lost what used to be my bangs and it was really obvious how bald I was getting. I'm 26 now .... and I just shave my head so I can't tell how bad it is. I've been shaving my head since I was about 20

So far so good. Mid 30's and all fine and my genetics look good. My father is 62 and still has a full head of hair that's just starting to go grey. My grandfather started losing his in his 70's and never went completely grey.

23-ish. I don't recall for sure when, but it was around then. Now I'm 36 and it would be half gone if I didn't shave my head.

Cool, good info to know. I'd always wondered if it was an old wives tale but never had the time or motivation to study it further. I've been shaving my head for about 5 years btw.

now baldness.. that's a different story. it's very interesting... studies must show that people now a days lose hair faster...?

Mine started around 20... but I am not worried. Pretty certain they will have the tech in 10 years. *Hopes and runs*

My mothers father on both sites have thick hair. Though my father has a receading hair line just like me. But hes 45 and im 23. So Im just a taaaad worried. Hopefully it will stop for a decade lol, but thats wishful thinking.

I have a habbit now to look more around at other guys. I didn't notice balding of other men until it started happening to my own head. It's just amazing how many have some kind of balding. I think 1 out of every 4 grown men I saw had baldness.

22 and considerable thinning and recession. Hair multiplication via biochemical signaling will be available early in the next decade so I'm not too concerned. Shouldn't get that much worse in the next 5 years.

My hairline started receeding when I was about 20 or so. Prolly receeded a bit more, but I'm 47 and it's been holding steady a loong time. No baldness in the back either.

I'm 35 and still have a thick, full head of hair. Not even any gray yet.
