I was around seventeen years or eighteen years : PIC microcontroller from Microchip, but to expensive compilers and interpreters held me back until i was around 20 years old (cleaning jobs to buy : Ze good ztuff). Of course Intel, Cyrix who was named different prior the Cyrix name, AMD. Great times.
Luckily, the music was there... To keep the patience.

And great books, i bought on cheap sales days.
Like this book, the Intel pentium fully explained as is many architectures in this book : All about the pentium from Addison Wesley.
This book cost me like 40 Dutch guilders at the time but was originally several hundred of Dutch guilders, prior 2000 and prior the guilder to euro change.
