I'm bored so I had to post a thread. I'm 20 years old and will readily admit I'm not grown up. I skip class frequently, don't work as hard as I should in school, and pretty much still have my main concern as having a good time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a partier at all. I will just place a night of relaxation and entertainment over homework :D I figure sometime in the future I'll grow up, most likely it would involve graduation, marriage, or stopping college to get a real job. Actually I don't think it would be getting a rela job because I would love that. No "work" coming home with me on the nights or weekends, 9-5 and I'm done. I dream of that day. But, I'm digressing. What event in your life made you grow up or at what age did you finally grow up and start acting with you money management and responsibilities? :)

You sound just like me. I hope I never grow up. I'm 20 also. A couple of months ago I went to a party which had a bouncy castle there. I spent all night on it, jumping from the walls of the castle and belly flopping onto these domes in the middle. And my 30 year old uncle was also loving the castle as well, untill it popped. Stuff chin-wagging like all the grown-ups do, have some fun gad-nyam it!

When I was 19 pregnant with my first child I realized that what I did to my body did indeed have an impact on others, so I quit 'partying' right quick.

When I was 28-29 and my 2nd marriage was failing, I started to fall in love with someone who was very much like the Mister. I realized that getting divorced would not solve anything, so I stuck it out and started to understand just why I was attracted to difficult, hard ass men.

Now, at 33, I am starting to learn to be content with my life at each stage.

So, I would say I keep growing up, step by step...

Lol @ the castle, I saw one of those outside walmart yesterday :D

Isla I think most men are difficult and hard assed (or headed in my case) to some degree. Its sorta in our nature :)

I'm too low of a stress person, I need to take things more seriously than going "'eh" and carrying on like I do now. 'Eh what are you gonna do about it? :D

I probably will never grow up. I rarely am motivated to do anything that isn't the least bit fun. I skip class all the time and don't care about my grades at all. I have a co-op engineering job, yet I take a month off when I come home from school to basically do nothing. I am happier doing nothing and not having money than working. I like to do a lot of stuff that isn't healthy;). Basically, I wish I could be 8 years old again...for the rest of my life.

I was born old, was always the serious kid. Didn't break out of that until I was about 15, went nuts until I was 25, then calmed back down.

In addition to my previous post...

DON'T EVER GROW UP INTENTIONALLY!!
now, if you encounter a situation like mine, sack up and become an adult. until that time, don't sit still

Heh, so what did you do?

Run?

Get married?

Have the kid and live together for a long time, never getting married?

Get an abortion?

Kill her? ;)

Here is the order of events after 08/18/99

1. we bought a house
2. she had the baby
3. we got married
4. she graduated from college

it's kind of out of order

Well i don't think i've grown up, however, there is no doubt that i am more mature and act more mature than some of my friends. Some people i know just act so damn immature it pisses me off, then again, i can't imagine them as being mature...

BTW i'm 18, i'm still a long wayz from 'growing up'

This phenomenom again.. when we were little kids all we wanted to do is grow up as fast as we can, now that we're 19, 20, 30, and over, all we want to do is to NOT grow up more.

It's a beautiful balance. :)
