When did the uber-tactical EDC patriot thing start?

The "exercising their rights" argument makes no sense to me, it suggests that people who have that opinion will believe that such a right would just be revoked without discussion because they're not open-carrying, or that their response to the thread of revocation would be any less supportive because they're not currently "exercising that right". IMO it suggests that people want to keep that right even though they know it is almost completely pointless, like wearing a t-shirt with a picture of their favourite politician/party/political opinion on. Except of course the object in question is a deadly weapon and those around them can only hope that they're not a sandwich short of a picnic in one respect or another (e.g. a hero complex or a desire to end it all in a blaze of glory).

Who says that 1st picture is what the guy carries daily? It could just be his assortment of items he has carried off and on before.

I have gone through several EDC pistols and knives in my lifetime which would easily fill that table up and then some.

Not sure you can include Hickok45 in the blame.

He's just a gun enthusiast who happens to have the opportunity to demo a large rage of firearms. From what I've seen, he isn't much interested in tacticool gear.
