when did the chicago tolls go up?

i drove to chicago last week and sumbitchin tolls were 1.00, .80, .80, .80, .80, .80

they were 40 cents each last time I went that route.

I think it was last winter or so...they raised them in order to encourage drivers to use IPass.

Yup. If you travel here often get yourself an Ipass from Jewel.

If you have ipass, its half the price. Just one more crappy thing I'll have to get used to when moving back to IL in a few years.

Well, on the plus side they have started major work on the toll road system.

355 extension to I80, open road tolling, adding lanes, etc...

yeah, hopefully this will ease seome of the traffic. I don't know what they were thinking when they designed the hillside strangler though
