I just went to Taco Bell to get something to eat and I noticed that regular cruncy / soft tacos are 99 cents now. I still remeber when they were 59 cents then it moved up to 79 cents. When will the madness stop

They are still one of the cheapest fast food places around, but it's not the bargain it used to be. It seems like only yesterday that their most expensive combo meal was $3.99... ah college... those were the good ol' days.

say thanks to increased gas prices, increased milk prices, increased labor wages, increased rents etc. etc.

We own couple of restaurants and I was forced to increase the prices of everything on the menu this weekend. Waiting for the reaction from customers. We just got a letter last week from the local electric company that electricity prices will be going up soon.

Because of increase in gas prices, our cost of goods have gone up a lot, especially paper & plastic products. I was at Safeway last week and noticed that milk has gone up by ~70c/gallon too. Its just inflation and its not just happening at a few places, its happening everywhere.

Remember when they used to pack them full, too? The other day I got a bag of hard tacos, and I could squeeze the shell together effortlessly.

Thats funny, I always thought 59 cents or just about any amount of money was not worth what they call food.

When did taco bell get so expensive?

When the meat skimping, camry driving cheapskates from India figured out how to get Taco Bell franchises. That's what the Sacramento area is like, anyway, as of late. It's probably all from government grants and loans too.

Americans should be so blessed! :|

Yeah, the good'ole days where you could get a meal for 2 under $5 on probably not finish it all. And when the person in front of you had their total display on the little drive-thru LED panel at $12 you figured they were supplying a party. :(
