Not liking illegal immigration doesn't make you a horrible person. It's 'illegal' for a reason, and not liking criminals is perfectly okay. It doesn't make you a racist either.

No, it's not. Legally, being Hispanic is an ethnicity, not a race, as an Hispanic can be of ANY race.

Does their legal status affect how you feel about them? Do you lump all Mexican nationals together and blame the behavior of some of them on the whole group? That would be an indication of your prejudices, not necessarily "racism" per se. I could see how hispanics could be viewed as a "race" given the unique combination of European (Spanish, etc) and "native Mexican indian" (Asian in origin) genes, so I suppose it could be argued that one could be "racist" toward Mexicans. Problem is, there is not a uniform genetic combination across the population of that country.

I think the term would be more accurately "nationalist" though.

Not liking illegal immigration is fine, but not liking the illegal immigrants is maybe racist.

My father and his grandfather were illegal immigrants who swam across the border when my father was 15.

Edit: They worked hard in Illinois for two decades until they were granted amnesty. They are now hard working and honest tax payers.

Hispanics, or Latino's as those categorized from Mexico, are a race because they are a MIXTURE of races. Native Latin American Indians, usually the Aztecs, Incans, Maya, Zapotec, Toltec, Mixtec, and others in that area, and WHITE Europeans that "conquered" the area like the Spanish and French. Mainly the Spanish and the leader tht arrived there, Cortez.

You see, and here's a little history lesson. When the Europeans landed in middle America, particularly the Spanish, they came for one thing and one thing only, to get rich. They were call "Conquestadors" for a reason. They killed, raped, and pillaged. The natives of middle America, were very dark skin in completxity. The inclusion of white skin, usually through unwillful acts, caused many more light skinned variants. Hence why they have their own race or nationality. It's a mixture of native american and caucasian.

Well actually, I think they becames a race when the Spanish inter-breed with the Native Americans and later generations started balance out the gene pool.
