When did Gamespot stop charging for access to their reviews and stuff?

I have been looking for a good site that didn't make you subscribe for a while now. I just realized when I went to gamespot that they aren't charging for reviews anymore. Anyone know when that happened?

They did? Sweet, good find! They probably thought it wasn't such a good idea after all when they realized that nobody wanted to sign up because they could get the same reviews and screen shots from a number of other sites for free.

The sad part is that there doesn't seem to be anything worth paying for.

yeah there isn't...they always have "exclusive" pics for the subscribers which become free after like a week or so

They haven't ever charged for current reviews. After a week or so, the reviews are pay-only. I just tried to view the review for "The 11th hour" and it wanted me to be a paying member
