I am thinking it was around season 8.

While the episode Grave Danger was pretty cool, it appears the series started to go downhill around the time of the Miniature Killer story-arc.

It was a pretty good ride until then.

When Grissom left.

I can't believe they brought in Morpheus and made him the most junior level employee in the unit.. Good thing he left because he was being underutilized. Laurence Fishburne's now in Hannibal, head of an FBI serial killer unit. Now THAT is fitting.

I stopped watching when Grissom left.. I just couldn't get into Fishburne's role.

Ted Danson is actually pretty good in the role. The years with Morpheus were terribad, but it's not as bad as it used to be. I watch still because the wife does, otherwise I would have quit watching when Grissom left.

Yea they did not use Laurence Fishburne very well. He did a good job but the writing was lazy and did not use him well.

Ted Danson I thought would be horrible but he has been great. His first year was done well. But the writing has just got awful since then. That and the new woman they brought it makes things worse. I watched maybe 2-3 episodes this year and have not gone back.
Even one of the original cast got pissed off about the poor writing for his character he left for a while but they brought him back.

I doubt it last another season unless the writing changes. Right now its just so flat and boring.

I can't believe CSI is still on. Used to be a big fan of the show but I haven't really watched it since William Petersen left. Though I think it started going down hill when they killed of Warrick.

Gary Dourdan, Warrick, was a drugged up idiot at the time. He had to file for bankruptcy after he left the show.

CSI was never good...The science it relied on was ludicrous. But it made for some decent filler.

Happy Days on the other hand ...

i can't stomach any crime shows like CSI on any of the network stations, NBC, ABC, CBS.

they just seem so cheesy and predictable.

Yep, he got arrested for coke possession IIRC. Though that marked the start of the original cast starting to bleed off.
