how much more descriptive could you get than their race? "The Chinese gentleman grabbed his seat". I suppose it depends on the context it's used in as well.

South Asian
Don't know about African--too many races in that continent!

Apparently, and I did not know this until recently, the PC way to refer to all minority races as a whole is, "people of color".

I heard that saying someone is, "Mexican" is pollitically incorrect, even though they are from Mexico. I thought this was rediculous, but apparently "Hispanic" is now the PC term...

black (never used the term "african american" because jsut because they are black doesnt mean they are of african decent. They could be Jamaican , haitian etc.. )
Asian (i could never tell the difference between a chinese, japanese or korean)
