When buying from buy.com or newegg.com can you purchase insurance?

For example when you buy something at bestbuy.com like a phone, a computer, a dvd player you can buy insurance from best buy that will cover any mishaps...

Is it possible to do the same from buy.com or newegg.com?

I want to buy an mp3 player for my girlfriend but have a warranty that lasts past the manufacturers 1yr warranty.

Edit: But as far as post-shipping mishaps, you'd need to purchase the "extended warrenty", which is available on most items. I've had it appear on the "FREE HAT" and "FREE TSHIRT" item.
