Do all the laptops you can buy have a driver you can get online (whenever its updated as well for like sound, video, etc) just like on built pc ? The reason I am asking is because I would want to reformat the laptop if it had the os and all kind of other stuff installed I didn't want. Do you all do this all the time or is there laptop companys out there that make sure only the os and drivers are on the laptop and none of the extra stuff? Also do they give you a cd of just the windows os ? Not a recovery cd ?

What about with the powerbook ? Can you install just the mac os like this as well like you can on a laptop or is it a little different?

Here's an idea, get the laptop, download all the drivers for everything on it, or at least just the NIC, nuke and pave, install the NIC driver, and download anything else you may need.
