When are we going to see non-TN panels at 22"?

Does anybody have an idea?

It's a good size yet manufacturers seem to have abandoned it...

I don't think we ever will if you want to know the truth. I thought CMO had an S-MVA 22" panel at one point. They seem to have replaced it with a TN instead. Just more profit for them, as long as people still buy whatever is given to them through "bundles" and what not. Truth is, most people just want a reading device, not a high-quality color display.

The LG L226WT that just released is a TN, but supposedly a true 8-bit. We're awaiting reviews for it; it just released (for $399).

And if the reviews are good, this will be my soon-to-be new monitor. :)

Agreed. All the major panel makers have 22-inch wide available (Samsung, ChiMei, AU Optronics, LG-Phillips) and all are TN

AU Optronics has one with wide color gamut and LG's one is listed as 8-bit on their web site, but this is suspect. They might well mean "8-bit equivalent because of improved dithering".

These are the ones I am anxious to see, but I think they won't pass my angle of vision test, even with good color rendition. I know the Samsung and ChiMei don't.
