When are they going to standardize the FP connector?

One thing I hate most when building a system is the stupidazz FP connectors. When are the mobo and case mfgs going to standardize the FP connector so it's the freaking same on everythng. I want ONE STINKING CONNECTOR instead of fiddling with 8 different 2 and 3 prong thingies. Got it Abit, Asus, Gigabyte, etc? ONE CONNECTOR...a 2 second job!

How many times have you connected an LED only to have it backwards and the LED won't light? hehehe Then you get out a pair a freaking tweezes, a flash light and a magnifying glass to surgically flip it whiles the OS is loading.

The FP design hasn't changed in freaking 15 years!

Yeah, I've been wondering too. It really should be simple, but some companies(like Intel) still use slightly varied connectors.

While I agree fully, standardizing the connection is the mobo manufacturer's issue, while making a single connector is up to the case designers. So we have two sets of people to yell at. 😉

Yea, but if ALL the mobo mfg's did the exact same thing, then the case mfg's would get on it.

And until they did I'm sure soemone would make an adapter for the case, so you'd just have to plug all that crap in once and forget about it forever.

Doesn't Dell already do it with a single connector? The one thing they do better than anyone else!

Actually the one thing they do better than anyone is noise control.
