those were some of my favorite first person shooters ever. The graphics weren't incredible but slicing people up fps style with a light saber and blasting goons off cliffs with force push never gets old.

edit* i still have jedi academy and i'm going to fire it up right now.
 
We need another FPS Star Wars game...maybe not necessarily a continuation of the Jedi Knight or Dark Forces series, but definitely something new.

I for one would enjoy seeing a FPS in the Knights of the Old Republic universe...or screw it...a day in the life of Boba Fett, the simulator.
 
I don't really care for Star Wars, but JK Dark Forces II is one of favorite games ever. The multiplayer over MS Zone was a blast.
 
The Force Unleashed is sort of an unofficial sequel to the series, but I dont know what their plans are for the computer (if they have any).
 
Force Unleashed seems more like a typical 3rd person console game, and LucasArts is using it to show off its nifty new physics engine.

Yeah, according to the wikipedia article, they're releasing it on just about every platform out there except the PC. 🙁 I don't think it's supposed to be directly connected to the JK games anyway.

Yes it's not connected to the JK games. Supposed to be during the early days of Vader.

This is one game I'm kind of glad it's being made specifically for console. I can sit back and relax on the couch with this game.
 
I signed. I liked JKJA alot and played it through a few times. I was looking forward to FU, but unless it comes to PC, I shant be playing as I do not have a current console, nor do I feel the desire to shell out the dough for a modern console.
 
Anyone who enjoyed the later entries into the JK series should not even be looking forward to FU in a similar respect. You have to understand that Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy were both made by a largely Quake-style developer that Raven Software was at the time. That is why the multiplayer was so perfect. In fact, the games were built off the Q3 engine.

FU on the other hand, will be a console romp. It will probably be good, but I don't expect anything near the longevity that the previous series gave.
 
the story line already has a sequel setup too. If you were darkside in jedi academy, kyle (or was it luke) would go after you at the end. Perfect sequel setup.
 
I'm quite suprised that lucas arts hasn't even mentioned a new fps type star wars game in the pipeline being developed wether it be a new JK game or a totally new ip. I totally agree a FPS from the old republic era would rock hardcore.
