When are these gas prices going to stop?

Today is the highest they have been in my area every. They just jumped to $3.50 a gallon. When is this freakn crap going to stop. Its pitiful how OPEC has got the world economy by the balls and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I had a 2003 Ford F150 4x4 (5.4L) that i just got ride of at the end of January. THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a 08 4cyl accord. Now i question whether i should have looked more into a camry hybrid or a prius. At the time i thought no way because there was to much of a markup on hybrids. I'm sure some people in CA are telling me to stop whining because its probably above $4.00 there but damn $3.50 is too much.

it isn't going to stop

the price of everything always goes up, same with fuel

the rate of the increase may vary, but for now, it is up up up UP UP UP

Oil is hitting new highs almost daily, and the dollars value is plunging - you do the math - It's only going to get worse - a lot worse.

stop buying cheap sh!t from overseas that you don't need and the dollar will stop falling. price of oil is pretty flat compared to euros, gold, pounds, whatever. the only thing it's up against is dollar and things tied to the dollar like yuan and yen.

I paid 2.95 last night here in NJ. We still have the cheapest gas around.. and someone else pumps it for us.

Funny, our 5 horses didn't notice 😉

Dude, its going up for everyone. Suck it up, bend over and take it like a man. Bitchin about it here won't make it go down. The automakers don't give a damn, the oil companies are having a field day, and we're stuck in the middle. Just be glad you don't drive a diesel, as I saw that jumped to $4.25 a gallon.

i'm still filling up on cheap US gas every chance I get! 😛

in all seriousness... it sucks... biting the bullet every time at the pump. what can the average citizen do?

Look for $4 gas by summer, and it's going to keep rising until consumption declines. That hasn't happened yet.

I don't I drive a trailblazer, and I have decided a while back to stop whining about gas prices. If you really think about I maybe spending an extra $400 a year, I can live with that. The only think that I miss is driving for no reason, I used just get off work and go driving around ... I cut the crap now.
I am thinking about getting a a bike for summer, liek Aprial or something.

Us consumption has been declining, China and India's has not. Report this morning stated oil demand is already heading down. Also, many experts believe oil is being artificially inflated and has hit a bubble. Keep your fingers crossed.

I heard the same thing. People pulling money out of other markets have been artificially inflating oil. According to these sources the market demand price of oil should be no higher than $80.

it's not just OPEC. if you're interested in hearing what geologists
etc. have to say about it

part of the situation is that the dollar is devaluing relative to
other currencies.

also, oil is becoming an investment, beyond buying stock in
oil companies.

Matt Simmons is an investment banker in Texas who manages
about $60 Billion. his Simmons International website has more
info, too.

wait til next week, will be even higher then

consumption in the US has dropped significantly, tg I drive a 4 cylinder civic

Buy more fuel efficient vehicles? Which, by the way, is something we should have been doing for the last 8 years...or at least since hurricane Katrina.

Oil, the new housing market...

On the bright side rising prices means people are driving more fuel efficient cars. People are disposing of their 12 to 18 mpg SUV and buying a 25 to 40mpg midsize sedan or hybrid. Less fuel consumption means that much longer before we reach peak oil.

Still it hurts financially especially when just a few short years ago we were paying less than $2 a gallon.
