when are there going to be more PCI express ad-on cards?

motherboards seem to have fewer PCI slots these days, with pci-express slots taking up most room. I have tv tuners in the two PCI slots on my motherboard. The onboard sound is crackly and nasty, I'd like to pop in a sound card, but don't have a spare PCI slot left. Are there pci express sound cards?
