Well, with the downsizing of the power supply (from a PCP&C to a Tagan) i saved enough money to make one of two upgrades

either from a 3200+Venice to a 3500+Venice

or from a 6800GT to a 7800GT

but, when will the GT version of the 7800 come out?

any rumors, announcements, etc?

The upgrade from 3200 to 3500 is negligible, while the graphics card upgrade is much more noticeable. I'd just overclock your 3200 a bit and buy the 7800 :D.

well i would, but like i said, i would only have enough to get a 7800GT (since thier supposed to retailat $450), but i dont know when there coming out, and if its not until a few weeks, i cant wait (leaving for college soon, need to finish my current build in a week or so)

Please don't make posts like these. If you would actually sit down and read the forums, or just do a search, you would know that nobody other than those under NDA know when these cards are coming out. We already have plenty of threads like these, just do a search and you'll find them.

Typing in "7800gt" in the search bar of the video forums brought up several threads that you will probably want to read:

Well the GT will likely drop to around 350-400 in price, the GTX will stay at around 500, the 6800Ultra will go to 300 and the 6800GT will go to 250 if it all works out.....

I highly doubt the GT will be 450 since the GTX is dropping day by day and already has been seen for 470. I think there is suppose to be an annoucement on the 11th.

well, the 7800gtx avoided the 32 pipes because they knew it would decrease costs and it DEFINITELY would not come into useful play for awhile. If ATI decides to take that road, they needa up their clock speeds as well and introduce the card at an attractive price. the crossfire boards already dont seem too appealing with ATI. Being a native ATI fan, i think they are taking the Intel approach and forcing users to buy an ATI mobo for Xfire. (LG775 mobos only for dual core Intels)
