When are the 5600/9600 boards supposed to arrive?

nVidia and ATI last said April. Anyone think they'll make it?

Right now I'm leaning towards nVidia (even though I think the ATI board will probably be better overall) because ATI's products usually exhibit a refresh rate/rolling bar problem on alot of monitors- my 8500 is driving me nuts, the MX200 I had before didn't exhibit this. I'm more interested in clear output to my HDTV and full MPEG2 hardware decoding support, which the 5600 is supposed to have.

we'll have to see, I don't believe there are full reviews of either board which also means both are far from seeing widespread customer use and feedback.

Most UK suppliers are expecting all versions of the GeforceFX line to be available by the end of the month, however some of the budget versions like the FX5200 will be available earlier. Most suppliers will have limited stocks of each, I've seen the TerraTec Geforce FX Mystify 5800 in a few stores already.

no it says 9800's.

Both chips are 0.13 based and since the foundries are having problems both are delayed. 0.15 based are OK e.g. fx5200 and 9800

if i remember correctly, the 9600 has been delayed to June but has now been pushed earlier to May
IMO, it's most probably the 0.13mu process problems

ATI recently announced they were going to ship their 9600 in volume at the end of April- so I'm hoping that is in direct response to nVidia's plans.
