From what I've been able to find on the 890fx chipset, everything said that they were delayed until April. Well, it's April and will be May this coming weekend.

Are they releasing this week? I've been able to find MSI, Asus and Biostar have boards to offer but no relase date or performance numbers.

I'm really interested in alot of the boards. I would like to see reviews of the MSI board featuring 6 pci expressx16 slots and the asus crosshair IV. Hopefully, they come out later this week.

I'd be more inclined to get a MSI 890FX-GD70. => Review

Alternatively there are decent 790X AM3 boards for very good prices. Such as these:

MSI 790X
ASUS 790X
Gigabyte 790X

Right now, the difference between 790FX and 890FX seems quite trivial, so above boards should handle all AM3 CPUs, including Thubans, fine. I've been using Gigabyte 790X-UD4P (AM2+) for a year to satisfaction and I might even pop in an X6 down the line.

The MSI 890FXA-GD70 board looked to be pretty sweet from this review at PC Stats. Although the folks at Bit Tech seemed to be a little less impressed with it.

Not only does the motherboard cost less at Microcenter than Newegg (159.99 compaired to 179.99), I get $50 off when I purchase it with a X6 which is $10 cheaper than at Newegg as well. I saved $80 going this route for the Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 and the 1090T. I am happy about this, and I am going to see what else they have cheaper there as well.

EDIT: I just realized this was the GX chipset and not the FX chipset. I am glad I didn't hit the buy button yet.
