When applying for credit cards and they ask your your household income...

I'm trying to get a CitiBank card but I can't meet the minimum income since I'm a college student. When they ask for household income, do they mean my parents' income too?

Uh...no. You'll need to get one of the student cards meant for college kids. Unless you just want to lie, but they tend to frown on that.

Are you still living at home with your parents? Then technically, you can add your parents' income to the total. If you live alone, then it's just what you bring home.

I remember I lied. Well, not really. I added in all my tuition and all of my loans and that good stuff, then added a little bit to that total.

Think I said about 23 on my first app since all the loans and grants came out to like 19k.

Haha, I got denied a student card when I was making 20k a year. I never had credit AT ALL untill I was 22 (just 6 months ago).

i think i said 60 k, which is about what i was taking out of savings to pay for school + scholarships and loans + what I made over the summer +10k
