When an LCD says it is DVI

Sorry for asking a stupid question but I'm new to DVI. I have a normal analog LCD for years now but I'm upgrading and confused on d-sub and DVI-D

D-sub is the analog input. If the monitor is DVI, you'll have a digital connector as well as an analog (at least I've never seen one that's got digital and not analog, they may be out there). If the monitor only says D-sub, it's not DVI.

Yeah, what he says.

D-Sub is fancy-talk for old-fashioned Analog connector.

D-Sub = old fashioned bad analog
DVI = new fangled digital input (DVI).
