When a DVD player has a DIVX symbol it should play DIVX right????

OK this is the deal. I downloaded a 700 mb movie in DIVX format. It's an AVI file. I have a phillips upconvert DVD player that has a divx symbol along the top. I burned it on a DVD and put it inside. It brings up a directory and it marks the file as AVI. However, when i highlight the file and hit enter it just flashes but dosen't do anything. I then burnned it onto CD and it did pretty much the same thing.

So I guess I'm curious now what the hell?????

Rename them to .divx from .dvi and try it again?

It looks like i got it. Nero 8 sucks balls. Every time i finised burning it it said file in use?????? When it wasen't...
