follow up

The sheriff of the department is very apologetic and not making any excuses. I think that naughty piggy who did it is going to be in trouble.

I agree it was uncalled for and irresponsible and she should be punished in some way, (fired?), however I would like to hear the whole story. What was it the guy did or said to cause such a violent response from her. I'm sure she knew there was a camera recording her actions in the room so she must have felt her response was in some way justified?
Anyone know the whole story?

She should be canned over that incident, not suspended. Zero tolerance.

Put her in a wheelchair and roll her off a two story building.

Sterner had been picked up by sheriff's deputies on a warrant for a charge of fleeing and attempting to elude police in an incident in October of last year, his attorney said

Rolling her off a cliff might be a little steep ;) but canning her is in order.

um what? he's been in a wheelchair for the last 14 years. If he fled it was probably in a car, not "on foot." Once in custody, in the precinct, you think he was a flight risk? there are no excuses for this.

iirc, the original report stated that he was detained b/c of a traffic violation.

It had also implied that she dumped him out simply b/c she thought he was lying about his paralysis.

We really should bring back public ridicule as punishment in certain cases. This would be a good start.
