Looks good. Would be interesting to know what the temps get up to. Mine tops out around 80 at full load.

yes, looks very promising indeed.():)
i am really happy. installed many drivers. some updates(rest still giving errors) and i am going to game now to put some load on the system.

will run OCCD tom.

BTW, should i try to put the RAM back to 1600hz? does it actually helps? what was that core ratio limit fixed to 48 from auto?

yeah those burn in scores look ok a little jumpy with the couple of nines there but it`s running i to ...would be interested to see the core temp values.. to be in all honesty with my fx4170 clocked at 4600..i never..have seen it peak over 50 ..if you think u may have not put the block on proper this would explain a lot.. but the fact that your able to get through the burn in is a step ahead..i will check in later and read the thread..since you have what i have i will endeavour to make an effort for you and read the text in the manual..i dwn/ldd it..windows update can throw errors if a package is older than on your system or if its outdated by another update...

I have my ratio limit at 42. 48 might be a little high until we see that everything is working properly. RAM speed looks fine as well.

Thanks for the effort. You might do a better job since you are well versed with the terminology. For me most of the things pass by overhead transmission.

I had just one BSOD this evening that too at the very early after setting the cooler back up. So, I am pretty happy for now. Will keep tweaking slowly and regularly.

Regarding updates: I used Microsoft's update download trouble-shooter and after running it(& it claiming to have amended all errors) I went to update screen and all the (req. And recommended) updates were gone. But when I click on search for updates the list comes back.:/

What I was asking was 'what is this function for?' I activated that setting only to gget right speed of the ram dimms. I don't want to do any sort of overclocking.

Btw just finished playing 'bound by flame' (only game I have on my pc right now) with all settings to max. Possible for about 50 minutes. The core temps reached max of 49 degrees. :)

I am happy with the progress.

I have to travel a lot for my work so I bought these parts from different countries. My mobo is from the states n when I was leaving this time I left the manual back thinking that i can easily find a soft copy online. I do have the cd though. I will check it for the manual. Hopefully it will be of higher resolution.

As for fans: Have replaced both stock fans with sickle flow fans(noctua is very expensive in brazil). for cpu cooler I have replaced the fan with corsair one(higher RPM) I have no problem with noisy fans as I normally use head phones.

I will find longer screws to put the spare 140mm on the outside of the case for a push-pull configuration. Cant think of any other place to put an extra fan for better flow. May be I will post a flow diagram or video with possible fan configurations and ask for suggestions from you guys.

thanks for all the help guys.

But somehow I am still afraid of booting this pc up. Wondering if it will go back to bluescreens again :S

I will try OCCD once I finish my work.

Can I bother you guys with driver hunting? I downloaded another one of those driver scanner/updater software n it is giving much more details about the outdated drivers. I can post the list here.

If the Asus driver works, use it. I used the Asus DVD for all my drivers and they work just fine. Only update if something isn't working correctly, or if a new feature become available. A lot of these updaters are just a way to get Spyware on your computer, so caution is suggested, if not avoiding completely.

yes all seems good for you so far...as for drivers..i mostly go for the drivers from the chipset vendors..like the audio ..if it realtek go to there page ..etc..um as for having the setup disk..it should have a copy of the manual on it..most do and being an asus board.. they generally do..go to the asus website it will prolly be the easiest for you there you will find all the drivers and pretty recent drivers...that is a very nice mobo you have there,,,,as for your bios setup functions choices...if you want a more detailed explanation ...just google the function ..it should give you a more detailed explanation of the particular option.. yes it takes a bit of time but i found it to be a better way ..often in the manuals,,i find there not very explanative...

i am not buying their subscription or anything. i also checked some reviews about them and parent companies. one of these is made by cpu-z team.

btw, i ran occd with default settings (10%overclock) but for 10 mins(idle:1m beginning &5 min at end :p) as i was a bit afraid. temps never went beyond 72%.. will post the report png files soon.
will add another fan to cpu cooler and will run longer test later.

i checked the asus cd they have the manual with pics of a bios from 80's :D
asus's website has more recent version. as far as the drivers are concerned, asus's latest drivers are dated 2013.
there are some drivers that look important and for intel devices. when i go to intel's site and search for these they direct me back to asus :(

well personally i dont use those driver update programs..i manually check for up dates every 3 months or so and as i do a great deal of surfing ..i often come across the updated drivers that way as well the ..asmedia drivers i would just use the asus drivers for that generally that sata port i run my optical drives off....but yes as for your self i think just using the drivers from the asus site you will be fine..hows the heat issue going..it seems to me you may ..and i say mayy ..of put the block on to the chip on an angle ..if now its mating well and temp`s are down ..then i see no reason for any "bsod`s"..unless something else goes wrong...
