I have not experienced bad roomates, consider myself lucky.
I however, never clean anything.
Oh yeah to add on top of that, I smoke in the bathroom but I do buy fancy toilet paper.

I've only had 2...

The worst was my best friend from HS and I went to college together and shared an apartment off-campus. Well one day I came back to the apartment from a trip home to find him packed up and going home...for good. No notice to me whatsoever. Kinda had to scramble to get the position filled before the next rent date.

ex roommate (a girl) while chit chatting on the balcony telling me that she have needs too and drops a bathrobe in front of my bedroom door the same night. Bbut I just picked it up and hung it on her door knob and went to sleep. Obviously I didn't get the hint.

Thats nothing... I had 3 roomates and myself, makes 4, in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment, $1200 a month... so we each paid 300, sweet deal right?

1st guy never paid me a days rent and joined the navy 3 months in (he was having car problems so I was being lenient and covered for him)
Paying 600 a month at this point

2nd guy left after the summer, 4 months in, and got married.
Paying 900 a month at this point

3rd guy gets mairred after 6 months (we knew this ahead of time, but he was the only one supposed to be leaving at all during our contract
Paying 1200 a month for the next 5 months...

I've had a mess of roomates.... my first one, I found out after the fact was homosexual.... he was afraid to bring guys home :( really great guy. I wish he didn't feel like that.

I lived with a marine after that. He was an amazingly kind, caring and outgoing guy. He brought out the best in people....

My next batch of roomates were two ex-frat guys and a sweedish guy. The sweedish guy was a vegiatarian pacifist... we got along great, but the frat guys were scum. Got in more than one shoving match with them.

My current roomates are amazing. I have an ex-stoner (who still talks like one) and an aspiring real-estate broker for roomates. It's amazing how much we have in common. We also have a roadie here... but we don't really like him

This is why I live in places with separate leases. Ive watched roomates get threatened with eviction and I don't have to give it a second thought.

Alright this is a good one.

I went on vacation to Hawaii with my g/f and had a great time. On the last day I did get very sunburned but it wasn't that uncomfortable. So, we get to my pad and my g/f has to use the bathroom really bad. I open the door and a stink like 2 day old crap rushes out the door. I look inside and there are a ton of beer bottles, cups filled with chew and plates with food still on them stacked everywhere. My g/f rushes into the bathroom only to immediately turn around and bolts out of it. I look inside and see puke covering the toilet, the sink and even some in the tub. I almost about puked myself just looking at it (and of course the smell didn't help). My g/f as for some TP and she runs to the backyard to do her business (#1). My roommate was no where to be found which is lucky for him. My g/f leaves and I start cleaning like a mad man. I get any bleach product I can find and start scrubbing everywhere. Now, what I should have thought of but didn't was that bleach + sunburn = terrible pain! I kicked my cleaning into top gear just so I could get the shower clean enough to wash the bleach off my skin before I tore it off with my nails.

Was not a happy camper for a long time.

That freaking sucks. Also, it would have been funny if your gf had to do a #2. Just kidding. But yeah that sucks big time.

Amazingly we are still pretty good friends though no longer roommates. I still like to give him crap for it. Thank god I had a lock for my room. One of the parties he had before someone stole my laptop and coat. Which sucks too but man we had some crazy arse parties. The dude could pull tale like you wouldn't believe and he was a complete slob. He didn't have any sheets on his bed and he had a mountain of Playboys pouring out from under his bed but for some reason the girls didn't care.

I had this one roommate one summer.. really, I was the roommate, it was her apartment.. and she was nice enough but she had absolutely no concept of personal property.. I don't think she wore her own clothes the whole summer.. she was too big for my britches and swimsuits but everything else was.. up for grabs, apparantly.

that annoyed the hell outta me, but since I didn't have anywhere else to go, and it was only for a summer, I just lived with it. I woulda just worn her clothes instead.. but.. even if they'd fit, I liked mine better. :p

Shoot, all my roommate experiences have been pretty lousy. BUT, you gotta do what you gotta do when you're young and can't afford a place on your own.

Worst by far was this:

About 10am in the morning, and I have the day off, which was a rarity. I just got done unpacking my brand-new Power Mac G4, hooking it up to my 15" LCD, and start to check it out.

"KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK"

Thinking nothing of it I mosey on over to the door, open it up, to see a 9mm handgun pointed straight between my eyes.

"GET OUT!!! GET OUT NOW!!!"

Needless to say, I quickly hopped out to the porch to see 10-15 local police, FBI, and Postal Inspectors swarming my small home. One-by-one the file in to the house and proceed with their rummaging.

They take my studio computer, my cable modem, my 17" CRT Monitor, my 15" LCD Monitor, and my BRAND NEW Apple Power Mac G4 Dual 1.25. Along with a bunch of other stuff.

Turns out my roommate was ripping people off in ebay.

I got my 15" LCD back the next day (which I sold and forgot to take the FBI sticker off, poor guy sent me a nice "WTF" message when he got it), the Apple PowerMac a week later (I had to prove that it WAS in fact new and there was no way anything illegal was done on it). The cable modem I got back three or four months later and the other computer and monitor I finally got back a good year and a half after the incident.

The roommate ended up spending a little over a year in prison and became a felon for life.

Trolls do get punished...this proves it.

I had 2 college room-mates (freshman year in dorms 1, then soph year 3 of us got a 3 bedroom apartment.)
My college roomates were cool, never had any problems.
Then I dropped out and moved back home for a while
My brother (who had problems with drugs, drinking, gangs, stealing, getting expelled from high school, etc) kept me pissed off 100% of the time. My CDs and DVDs would sometimes be missing, etc. My Gary Fisher bike was stolen (because he never put the lock back on the shed after opening it, also he gave the combination out to gangbangers.) I don't know how or why my mom puts up with even half of his crap any more. I got the Fvck out as soon as I could afford to buy my own place.

That being said, I would say my younger brother was the worst possible roomate ever. He is very lucky to be alive. I feel sorry for my mom but she won't kick the little fvcker out.

Best: 2 bedroom apartment I was sharing with a friend. He was dating a woman that he ended up practically living at her place full time. He would maybe drop by once every week or so to pick up something but continued paying his half of the rent.

Worst: Junior year of college when I transfered in mid year from community college to the university I graduated from. They said I could try for on campus housing but being a transfer it was probably unlikely for the spring semester. I tried and they gave me a room. I was 25 then, veteran, smoker, liked to party in the early 80's sense of the word and ended up sharing a room with a freshman jock from New Jersey. About the only communication we had was when he would ask me to pick him up a fifth of liquor before I would head home for the weekend.

As for worst room mate see my thread from last year heh Text

My room mate freshman year wasn't too bad, he was a good guy, a little messy, but not too bad. My room mates this year are really cool, I don't hang out with them every weekend just because I don't want to get tired of them.

two years ago, i had the best roommate ever. he blacked out seven times within a year and i actually "shamed" him such as writing with permanent marker on his hairy ass.

roommate from last year was the worst one, he used me a lot such as wearing my clothes and driving my suv while he had a car. i ultimately got rid of my roommate.

this year, no roommate for the rest of year.

Best roommate was during the dorms. I had a single, so I had privacy, but I lived across from the "quad" that was the life of the building.

Worst roommate is now with my GF that eats my food and I can't say anything about it.

Freshman year, 3 of us were stuck in a dorm room which was meant for a double. 2 of us went to school together, so that worked out well; but unfortunately, we couldn't say the same for our other roommate. He would smoke in the room (both of us are nonsmokers), he would use our computer without asking (he had the balls to storm out of the room one night when we were watching a movie on one of the PCs, bitching that we weren't letting him use HIS computer). It wasn't even his. I worked back at home on the weekends, so when I would come back on Sunday night's, I would find food gone, soda missing, etc.

And if it couldn't get any worse, he NEVER did his laundry, which made the room smell like sh!t. He also got so pissed off at his bitchy g/f that he punched a hole in the wall in the hallway. We had to lock the door on him because we didn't know what he was capable of. He also did NO work but he slid by somehow. In fact, he would brag about getting additional scholarship money. When room assignments were coming up for Sophomore year he tried to talk in private with each of us separately to room with him for next year and ditch the other roommate. We both said "Thanks, but no thanks!"

Roommate from hell.
