What's your summer job/Internship this summer? Here's mine...

I'm curious what people are up to this summer, esp. given the bad job market...

I'm working on a speaker system that utilizes DSP to both adapt to your room's acoustics and emulate the best characteristics of both standard speaker drivers and electrostatic speakers. It's expected to retail for roughly $12,000, and use a computer to do the DSP. I'll be off in Berkeley, CA.

Oh, the company is called Intelligent Audio Systems -- there was a blurb in I believe the April issue of Sound and Vision magazine about them from the CES show.

Well, since being laid off from Gateway, I'm becoming a full time pizza driver for Papa John's 😉 Talk baout making the big bucks!!!!!!!!!

My job is to run CAT5e and fiber optics. Its computer grunt work, at least I get paid decently.

I ran cat5 and did some light networking last summer for my dads boss's hotels, yeah i hate grunt work.

I have no clue what im doing this summer, but im off to college in september...so doing something non-productive is not hard to resist 😛

I'll be working @ my bakery job...easy work, good/decent pay (for a 16 y/o), hot chicks and food make it a pretty good way to spend my summer.

I'm one of the new webmasters for my school's Associated Students website. I might have some summer work.

I'm 15 and hopefully working for Rolls Royce this summer... no not the car Rolls Royce, but the one that makes engines for aircrafts and such, no guarantee yet but chances look pretty good

I'm working for Northrup Grumman in the Operations Research division.... the project I'm working on is a battlefield simulation/ analysis for the govt... my office is located right next to the pentagon...

So, the simulation is written in an OO language called Extend, I think it might be proprietary. I'll be helping with some coding, as well as cost/benefit analysis. along with learning a lot of operations research processes. Its a pretty good internship for my major

As sucky as the pay is, the job is kinda fun if you work w/ cool people 😀 I did pizza delivery for a year with Pizza Hut, and while the money wasn't so nice, it was the easiest, most fun job I've ever had. And.. and.. once, I got to see this lady's HUGE CANS cause she wanted some pizza.. I'm not kidding.. it rocked. I didn't give her the pizza though.

I was going to do an internship at raytheon, but i decided to take some classes during the summer since i will be doing coop next year.

are you an IE/OR (or ORIE) by any chance? Sounds like some cool experience, though I have never heard of Extend (do you know if it is an "even driven" styem or an "activity scanning" one?).
