what's your sports car philosophy

What is your personal sports car philosophy. Do you like them:

1. Light and agile with small but capable engine? able to carve up a track due to incredible handling and nimble response? aka Lotus Elise, Mazda Miata, Lotus Super Seven

2. Medium sized with medium engine. A proper car that can keep up with the best, yet retains its nimble feel and responsiveness. aka Honda NSX, Mazda RX7, Porsche 911, Ferrari 355

3. Big with a monster engine. a heavyweight with the power to back it up. you define Bigger as being better. aka Viper, Corvette, Skyline, Supra, Murcielago.

4. not really a sports car but close. your sports car is everything to everyone. practical, comfortable, yet sporty enough to be dangerous. aka M3, WRX STi, R32, EVO.

2, 1, 4, 3.

But, if I were to actually make a purchase, most likely it would be a '4' as I have two children and something other than that just wouldn't be practical.

2. I don't like the idea of a car completely built around handling.

Well, that's the whole point of a sports car. Lightweight with excellent handling.

A real sports car should be able to do all the essentials, as in go fast, turn fast, stop fast, turn heads, and still have enough room to hold at least 2 golf bags or 2 large suitcases. After all, if you can't use it, what good is it?

I like big engines. I like feeling the acceleration, feeling my body being
pressed into the seat, seeing the smoke from the rear tires in the
rear view.

Corvettes are too refined, I like Vipers.

how do the 911 and f355 go in #2 and the skyline and supra go in #3? both the 911 and f355 are pretty heavy cars and have very powerful engines (420 and 355 hp, respectively) while the supra and skyline arent rediculously powerful (skyline is listed at 280hp and i think supra is 300hp).

also, why isnt the M3 a sports car? so what if it is based on the 3 series (the skyline is also based on a sedan), its one of the best handling cars on the road.
