You're clueless, eh?
Actually you're clueless... I recently bought a 'modern', LCD with high-end specs... but unlike the rest of the mindless sheep without independant thought following the masses like Lemmings, I actually realized that newer doesn't always mean better. I went back to CRT that actually suits MY NEEDS better then LCD. Don't be all insulted because I actually tried BOTH and decided CRT is still better. So sorry I didn't join the cattle herd "just because", and assumed everything is greener on the other side. I tried, I realized LCD sucks, and I went back to CRT. Unlike many around here, I have independant thought... I just don't "settle" for LCD because the market assumes I'll settle for less when it comes to multiple resolutions... I have indepedant thought, and I made the best choice for me.

So now I wait for SED, which will make LCDs dinosaurs.

Up to you. It's your loss.

But you proved my point anyway. ;)

And, it's not a cattle herd type of mentality. I think the word hypercritical comes into play here.

I'm curious...which modern LCD did you buy? That should shed some light on your horseblinders. :)

Viewsonic 912B... well respected around these forums and highly recomended at the time of purchase.

You proved my point... you assumed I hadn't tried LCD.

Multiple resolution support is more important to me then looking good in ONE resolution. It would only have been my loss if I kept the LCD instead of giving it to my wife. I'll be happier when SEDs come out.

1680x1050 goes for all of my games too, except for FEAR which has forced me to knock the resolution down to 1280x800 while playing it :p

No, I didn't assume anything.

It's pretty clear that you are simply clueless. :)

Wait for SED...have fun with that.

And you lose about 35% of your CRT display doing this....
It is 25%, and I loose the same when running 4:3 content on my plasma so I don't see your point.

Nice generalization. You think everyone else is a, "mindless sheep without independant thought following the masses like Lemmings". Thats pretty sad. I never said, newer is better, stop trying to put words into our mouth. You seem really full of yourself acting as if only you can make a thought out deicsion.

LCD's like Dinosaurs? Thought age didnt matter? CRT's are about 10x older than LCD's.
