The Texan Rider (Tarleton Texans). Basically a dressed up cowgirl in school colors on a really nice throughbred horse carrying the school flag. Yay.

EDIT: In high school, we were the Robert E. Lee HS Rebels (Midland Lee)- our mascot was a guy in a large Robert E. Lee costume with the head and all. People in the stands waving Confederate flags and all- it's great to not live in a P.C.-obsessed hometown, where my alma mater pride solely stands over any ignorance of racism with an iron fist. We waved those flags as a symbol for the school, and it was great. Pride like nothing you can imagine. Our rivalry with Odessa Permian is vowed as the 3rd largest in the nation. We were also the #1 5A team in the NATION back in 2000- 3 back to back Texas state championships.

Oh yeah, Laura Bush is an alum as well. :)

I went to a high-school with a silver knight for a mascot, a college with a Badger for a mascot.

I want to see the Stanford tree after all I hear about their crazy mascot and the stunts people do to be it - even though not an official mascot... their "official" mascot is crimson AKA the color red.

Small price to pay to live in Hawaii

actually, our football team was the Rainbow Warriors (aka Bows), usually represented by a large Polynesian warrior (trust me, very intimidating). Now it is just the Warriors because some overly retarded folks thought that people might associate our mascot with homosexuality

Other UH teams have kept the Rainbow I actually prefer that as a "mascot". It's just been hard to have a identifiable personification of a rainbow at games, so they have changed the costume around quite a bit over the years. Of course, we have *real* rainbows almost every day :)

The Permian Panthers were the team featured in Friday Night Lights, the book that "Varsity Blues" was based on. Great book.

Oh, and by the way, we're the Scarlet Hawks.
