Average rating is always 5. The system adjusts. I have 7.4 and am hotter than 72% of guys on Hotornot. Most of my votes are 5s though, with a bell curve down to the extremes.

These ratings just confirm my suspicion that HotOrNot has taken to curving scores by drastic amounts. Try and find a picture rated < 5 now, they used to be all over. What happened to the natural bell curve? The entire system is pointless now, ugly people routinely get 8 or 9's.

HotOrNot is stupid. I see some of the fugliest people with 7+ ratings. It appears that most of the people doing the rating tend to stay away from the lower half of the numbers.
