im wondering which one i should use, i just so happen to have this 3 channel scsi raid card and 2 cheetah 36xl 9gb drives sitting right here ready to be put in raid 0. no specific performance targets (not running a database or anything), just going to be used as an everyday computer running games/internet apps/graphic apps (time to time).

im thinking maybe 64kb, but thats more or less a random number =P. my card can go up to 128kb stripe size...

thanks

i use 16k with mines. the bigger the files that you are going to mess with the higher the stripe size you want. ie.. movies, isos, pr0n, etc, id go with 32k or 64k. for over all everything id recommend 16k. hope that helps ya decide.

64K. That's the max stripe size on the Highpoint controller on my Abit KT7R mobo. I tried 16 and 32 and found that the drives thrashed around way more than w/64. Also, my SANDRA HD b-mark were quite a bit higher.

Bigger stripe = more space taken up, but I have a 78GB array. I'm not too worried about space!
