Shoot my rifles and handguns.

Go camping and/or hiking.

Play enough Company of Heroes 2 so that I don't get totally smoked (when playing 1 vs 1).

already spent one weekend at a lake house near Columbus GA and another weekend at another friends 4th of July festival. going to a Braves game this weekend and kayaking the Broad River the next. have a week long lake trip planned for August and a week at Lake Mead and Las Vegas in September for a friends wedding.

that's the fun stuff planned so far, i'm also moving at least once, if not twice in the next few months.

Lets see here...

House Remodel
Warrior Dash MN1 (Complete)
Tough Mudder
Week Camping
Rumble on the Ranch (Local Obstacle Race)

Other than those major points, sitting in my ghetto blue blow up pool telling guys they missed a spot working on my house.

That's my summer.

Awesome, thanks man. That school sounds fantastic.

So any other specific beer recommendations that need to be tried while down there? We can get a lot of stuff up here, but I know there are probably quite a few that never make it all the way up North.

If you like "hole in the wall" places one of my favorite activities is to go to Tugboat Brewing, then right next door is Santeria which has awesome Mexican food. They're both a bit dim, strange, and cramped but good stuff. Tugboat has a really good stout. The bathrooms at Santeria are actually shared with the strip club that's next door, hah. They're downtown, just west of Big Pink.

I'd stick with seasonals and one-offs. Ask what the specials are. Oregon beer, especially from the larger breweries, gets exported everywhere, so you probably won't have much trouble finding Rogue's Dead Guy or Deschutes Black Butte Porter. But you might not get their seasonals. If you go to the smaller brewpubs (Laurelwood, Lucky Lab, Amnesia, HUB and the like) there's a good chance you won't find any of their offerings available near you. Personally, I prefer Deschutes and Rogue regardless. Also, if you go to the Rogue brewpub, get a beer float with their Hazelnut Brown Nectar (or Chocolate Stout, I suppose); it's to die for.

And McMenamin's is notoriously hard to find outside of their brewpubs, so I'd try everything you're interested in while you're there. I think they still do beer sampler platters that let you taste 6 different brews; a good way to get the experience without getting plastered. Come to think of it, most of the brewpubs offer flights or taster boards, so you should probably do that, just to experience as much as possible.

Awesome. Thanks AP, I've saved this all offline for when I go.

Definitely down for a hole in the wall. Love some good Mexican food too since it's pretty impossible to find up here.

Spent a wet week in Allegheny National Forest from Jun 9-16, dispersed camping.

On Jul 29th, going down to Mohican for a few days of kayaking and easy camping.

Not summer, but when the leaves are in full color, will be doing a four day kayak camping trip down the Allegheny River, and will be camping on the federally protected islands along the way, with one night at a regular campground.

Blowing $4000 on an infrared camera... I've thought about it before. It was going to be my second graduate program thesis. Since I dropped out and saved $10k, seems stupid not to....

Research, research, and more research. Throw a little biking in there and maybe go visit a friend in another city.
