Siemens S40 (alright phone, earpiece stopped working)
Sony Ericsson T68 (first color phone for me, horrible reception)
Sony Ericsson T237 (probably the best phone I've had, great reception and battery life, I must've used it for 4 years)
Sony Ericsson W810 (alright phone, some buttons stopped working)
Blackberry Curve 8320 (pretty happy with it, great for texting)

Next? I'm not sure... Maybe iPhone 4 (with a bumper around the antenna, lol). I'd prefer an Android phone, but we don't have anything comparable to the N1/Desire up here yet.

Motorola v60i
Sony Ericson Z500a
LG VX8100 for the past 5 years, still on original battery, it's been though just about everything but the garbage disposal and is still almost brand new.

Next: Droid X on launch.

As you can see I've never really been swept up into the gadget craze, all I cared about is battery and voice quality; it is still a phone after all. Hell I didn't even want a cell phone for the longest time, I like to talk to people on my terms, not have a ball and chain in my pocket chain juggling me and keeping me from my current task. My stand alone GBA/DS/digital camera are better, blah blah blah etc, etc, etc. But the integrated phone features, like going from a top of the line CRT to a LCD, are "good enough" now days to make the jump for convenience.

Mostly, I was going to spend about $200 on a nice GPS unit for work travel, but then realized I'm texting more, and needing internet anytime anywhere much more often than before, wifi at hotels and such is unreliable as hell, so... into the abyss will I go... I've also been meaning to pick up a netbook for go anywhere web... and well, for $200 I can pretty much have it all in one pocket. Amazing how needs change in 6 months.

How good are these phones now? I've been playing with the Android SDK and my crappy work laptop can't even run the emulator... laptop... can't emulate a phone... but I bet there is a app for the phone that emulates my laptop just fine :awe: It will be a joy working on real metal in two weeks.

I had nothing but free phones from verizon for years. Then I got an iphone 3G and fell in love with 'smart phones'. Next up I got a 3GS. Now I'm about to pull the trigger on a nexus one.
